Next week our How the World Works inquiry transitions into a sustainability focus. Students will have the opportunity during their Play and Inquiry Learning time to create recycled sculptures and other works of art such as mosaics. When researching this area we stumbled across this great website which you may like to share with your child and begin discussions on creative ways to re-use materials:
If you find any recycled art works around the city when you are out and about at the weekend we encourage you to take a picture, print it off and bring it along to school for sharing.
We have a lot of cardboard boxes and bottles already which students may use for these artworks but if you have any other recycled materials students can use for their artworks can you please collect and bring to school for use next week. These items can be placed inside the blue water tray on the courtyard verrandah. Such items may include bottle tops/lids, old cutlery, used clothes pegs, old hair clips, small plastic toys, drink can rings or used coat hangers. The smaller the items the better.
We look forwarded to seeing what the students create with these materials!
