How the World Works Inquiry - Wk 6

Tuning in: Introduction to sustainable practices
Throughout Play and Inquiry Learning time this week some students commenced creating works of art out of recycled materials. Students selected a recycled object to study and discussed what they could see it become if it were to be turned into something new.

We encourage you to continue collecting objects to bring to school for this project. The smaller the better - lids, bread clips, old plastic toys, anything at all really that has been used and has the potential to be made into an exciting work of art.

In this weeks intergrated inquiry workshop students began exploring the concept of sustainability. Students brainstormed what they already knew about sustainable practices and how they can look after our world. They shared things they can do at home to be sustainable as well as things at school. Students created writing and illustrations about their thoughts and shared these with one another. They read some non-fiction texts about sustainability exploring why there is a need to look after our world.
