Take Home Reading Scheme:
As of Monday we would like children to change their take home book daily with their parent or carer BEFORE they enter their classrooms. Books will be located in the torus in the hall. We encourage children to return their book to the container with the blue label(Beginning is written on the side) and select a new book with a blue spot on the back. As they enter the classroom there will be a sheet located beside the door for them to tick their name off to indicate they have chosen a new book. Remember, it is not expected that children are able to read these books independently. We hope this will be an enjoyable experience for both you and your child. Readers will engage with the text using prior knowledge, enjoy the rhyming sentence patterns and use pictures to predict the text.

Parent Helper Roster:
The Parent Helper Rosters for this term are up and located outside of each classroom. We encourage you, if you have a spare morning to sign up to assist the teachers and children during their Play and Inquiry session. 9am-11am. 9.30am-11am (Tuesdays). **Please note parent helpers must sign in and out at the school office with Julie.**

Food Policy:
We have been teaching the children not to share their food with their friends at school. We would greatly appreciate if this message was reinforced at home as well. This year in Prep we have children with severe allergies. It is encouraged that children do not bring nuts to school particularly cashew and pistachio. If you would like to bring a birthday cake along to school, please check with your teacher regarding allergies within your child's class.

Courtyard Up Keep:
We are working really hard to establish inviting provocations for students in the courtyard each morning. We would appreciate your help in making sure these areas remain untouched prior to school commencing at 9am. Also of an afternoon, while you are waiting to collect your child from their classroom, please ensure younger siblings do not enter the home corner or pull out blocks and other construction materials. Your cooperation in valuing the courtyard as a learning environment is much appreciated.
